A refreshing summer in the Alps

About me: Anna
Hi! I am Anna and I have been in charge of managing the restaurant in our family business for several years now. Anyone who knows me knows that I like working in a team when it comes to making our guests' stay a memorable one.

I am committed to saving our climate wherever possible and these considerations play a big factor when shopping for the restaurant. I am also really interested in getting to know other countries and cultures. During our 2019 renovations I travelled through Australia and New Zealand with my mum Margot. Of course we brought home some culinary inspirations for our Restaurant Tiatta.

I like to spend my free time with my partner Mario and our dogs "Odin" and "Dreizehn" (the latter translates to "Thirteen") in the mountains of the Zillertal.

A refreshing summer in the Alps

Summer presents itself from its best side in the Alps and it paints the Zillertal in a variety of colours. As much as I enjoy the warmth of the sun, I like to get higher take in the crisp mountain air, the cool forests, the turquoise waters and the freezing cold streams.

Wanna cool off?

Are you keen to cool down while at the same time exploring the mountains? I am happy to share my favourite spots with you.

Märzengrund
If you come here you are sure to be off the beaten paths. The romantic mountain valley with its spacious pastures can be reached from Stumm via the "Märzenklamm" or by bicycle on a well groomed forest track from Stummerberg.

Stilluptal
This is a real insider tipp. The picturesque valley is branches off the Zillertal in Mayrhofen. You will come past cosy mountain huts and a crystal clear lake when you hike through the area.

Public pool Stumm
Nothing more refreshing than a jump into cold water! The public pool Stumm, which offers a natural swimming pond, a sports pool and lots of slides and towers as well as children's pools, is less than five minutes walk from the hotel. After a bath you can soak up the sun on the and take a nap in the grass or on the pier.

Achensee
This is the biggest body of water in Tyrol. It is surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Rofan and Karwendel mountains, and on hot days its crystal clear water offers a cool respite from the heat. In fact, the water is so clear that it has been labelled to be of drinking-water quality.

The glacier in Hintertux
A snowball fight in summer - why not? Anything is possible in the Zillertal. To get to the glacier you turn off in Mayrhofen and drive in direction of the Tuxertal, and once you have reached Hintertux, the cable car will take you to the majestic glacier at 3,250 metres above sea level. The Hintertux glacier is the only ski resort in Austria that is open year-round. However, it does not only offer summer - and winter - skiing at its best, but you can also visit the jaw-dropping ice caves at the Natur Eis Palast and the Spannagelhöhle.

Cool off in your room

In order for you to keep cool after an eventful day in the mountains, our brand-new rooms on the second and third floor have been refurbished with a CO2-neutral climate ceiling to offer a consistent cool temperature. The ceiling is cooled by our in-house ground water heat pump - without any negative impact on the environment and without making any noise.

Turn your anticipation into real joy and come visit us at the Restaurant Tiatta or the Hotel Tipotsch!

Yours sincerely, Anna
