Arts and culture

Curtain up!

With many sculptures as well as artworks depicting Alpine landscapes on display, Hotel Tipotsch and its Restaurant Tiatta as well as Café-Bistro Kimm exude a very special atmosphere. The pieces of art are meant to inspire and bring colour to daily life, but of course at times they may also be thought-provoking. Coffee, cake and art go well together, as do wine, delicious snacks and art. Thus we have created an inspirational place that invites you to socialise and share your thoughts with likeminded people.

Current "art piece of the season"

Depending on the respective season, you will find selected "artworks of the season" on display at the Restaurant Tiatta.

Tipotsch´s theatre

The valley’s first movie theatre opened its doors in 1956. Located in the hotel, it was known as the “Ziller Lichtspiele”. Fast forward to current times, our boss Heinz has managed to combine his profession with his passion for acting and refurbished the movie theatre to become an actual theatre in 1989. It is still in use and regularly sees a packed audience when the Theaterverein Stumm is offering a performance as part of the theatre menu or during the Kulturfestival Stummer Schrei. It also plays host to cabarets and presentations on a regular basis.

Theatre menu

Our specialty
For more than 20 years now the Hotel Tipotsch offers a successful combination of culinary and cultural treats. Between main course and dessert, guests are taken to the theatre to take in a funny play that basically constitutes the menu’s fifth course. The theatre menu is a hit with groups – be it clubs or company outings – and day guests. It can also be booked in combination with a lunch menu or coffee and cake.

We are happy to organise your stay at the Hotel Tipotsch or any festivities and events, all of which can be combined with the theatre menu. You can choose a preferred menu and combine it with a funny play for an outing that you won’t forget.

We are looking forward to hearing from you.

Gathering place for artists

When renowned novelist and actor Felix Mitterer visits his Tyrolean home he likes to come by the Restaurant Tiatta and Hotel Tipotsch in Stumm. Felix Mitterer not only appreciates the cosy atmosphere and the hearty cuisine; it was his passion for acting that has inspired the name of the Restaurants “Tiatta”, which is local dialect for “Theatre”. In 1987 he penned his play “Verlorene Heimat” in Stumm and in 2016, the town hosted the premiere of his play “Märzengrund”. Your host Heinz Tipotsch was the leading actor and the play was so successful that it was shown for two consecutive seasons at the Kulturfestival Stummer Schrei. Additionally, in 2018 it was awarded with the Österreichischer Hörspielpreis (Austrian Radio Play award) for director Martin Sailer’s interpretation. With its restaurant and café, the Hotel Tipotsch has become and remained a popular place to meet for artists and art enthusiasts from all over the world.
